Truck Driver Training Varies By State

Regrettably, this scene plays out all too often, every day. While automobile crashes are occasionally tragic, most accidents result in no major injuries, a police report, an insurance claim...

Lets discuss the issue of driver pay. Just like statistical information can be shaped to highlight something in a positive light; so can driver pay? For example if one carrier offered to pay you $0.32 per mile and gave you 2200 miles per week, you actually make less than taking a job with a carrier that only pas $0.26 per mile and gives you 2900 miles per week. When it comes to driver pay look at what your NET checks will be, not your pay per mile. Ask any veteran truck driver and they will tell you JD Truck Training Centre is all about the miles.

Private trucking schools will take their time and won't pressure you. Remember, they want you to enjoy your learning experience so you will recommend their school to others. Trucking companies are hit and miss... some of them may push you and pressure you to keep their agenda alive... it's YOUR privilege to be working there so you BETTER perform. Now not all of them will treat you this way. A lot it will depend on the individual instructors.

This is very possible. I have met a lot of truckers that didn't go to a Truck driving school. They learned it right at home growing up. They either grew up on a farm, or their dad took them on the road trucking. These guys who grew up on trucking really have the Lr licence advantage with the experience they learned through the years.

If we check out the technical points related to the two type of schooling then the independent school will teach you trucking lessons from scratch. They will teach you every lesson to get a successful truck driver job and fit into any truck driving company easily. The learning approach followed is general so that you can apply them wherever applicable. Whereas when you take the course from the trucking company school they will follow a customized learning pattern which is used in their trucking company to dispatch available loads. Thus you may lack the competing knowledge when compared with the independent school truck driving course.

The schooling began with nothing but classroom study for the first week or two. If you decide to attend driving school at a HR Truck Licence company....let the propaganda begin! They won't waste any chance at promoting themselves, believe me. They will also make you feel like it is your privilege to be working for them. Get used to that. Now here's your first piece of raw truth about the industry... companies are completely and totally desperate for truck drivers. I mean DESPERATE!

A former homeless man had been volunteering at a very small church where he spent time during the day sorting through donated items for the Thrift Store that funded the ministry. The man had walked past a church yard sale earlier in the morning, stopped to share information about his small church and to let them know that they could use any unsold items.

You must be able to pass a physical exam and a drug test given by the U.S. Department of Transportation. This is to ensure you have no physical conditions (or substance abuse) that will interfere with the safe handling of a commercial truck. During your employment, you will also be subject to random drug testing. You must also pass the physical exam every two years while employed as a truck driver.
